Ventoleiro Blanco 2023

2023 / 93+ puntos

The 2023 Ventoleiro Branco, the first vintage produced, was made with 80% Treixadura and 20% Albariño. It didn't go through malolactic and has 6.8 grams of acidity and around 11% alcohol. The aim was for a more immediate white, one that doesn't need as much time in bottle. It's almost experimental, as they did different fermentations in different materials, all quite oxidative, and the élevage was 12 months in 500-liter barrels. It has a lot of flavors and is sapid. There's also complexity and depth, and it has a textured mouthfeel with fine granularity. 5,600 bottles and 90 magnums produced. It was bottled in November 2024.
