The 2021 Grimalt/Caballero feels super harmonious and subtle, perfumed and elegant, with an ethereal and delicate side to it. It was cropped from a very good year and produced with a blend of 70% Callet and 30% Fogoneu, keeping a contained 12% alcohol with very good freshness and acidity. It has notes of acid berries and Mediterranean herbs, with complexity and nuance, developing notes of dry roses and tar with time in the glass that wanted to take me to Piedmont... The palate is truly refined, laced with fine tannins and a stony mouthfeel. This is a serious Mediterranean red with elegance and freshness. Only 600 bottles were filled in May 2024.
