The white blend 2021 Blanco was produced with old-vine Doña Blanca from Villafranca, 100-year-old Palomino from Santalla del Bierzo and Godello also from Villafranca, looking for the balance between the varieties. Each variety fermented separately in 228-liter oak barrels, where they matured over two winters, during which time some of the barrels developed flor, and the blend was done after the élevage. There is some spicy creaminess in all the wines from the use of new barrels in this first vintage. This has some leesy, yeasty notes and moderate alcohol and ripeness, with 12.5% alcohol and a tender palate, velvety and sleek. 1,500 bottles and 15 magnums were filled in May 2023.
