The 2023 Señora de Las Alturas comes from an ancient plot on the gravel and silt soils on the banks of the Alhama River that they call Pontigos, which also produces their wine Lecciones de Vuelo that is a collaboration with a different winemaker every year. It fermented in open 1,000-liter pools with 7% Garnacha Blanca followed by malolactic, and it aged for 15 months in four second-use 500-liter French oak barrels and two 600-liter amphorae. This is the wine where they look for more finesse than anything else. It's quite shy, very subtle, nuanced and whispering in a low tone. It's indeed super elegant, a step up from 2022. It has a bright and pale ruby color and a perfumed and floral nose with great nuance. It has moderate ripeness, a medium-bodied palate, contained alcohol (13.7%), a pH of 3.27 and 5.67 grams of acidity, denoting freshness and very fine tannins, with an ethereal quality, weightless, with purity, precision and symmetry. It's superb! 4,200 bottles produced. It was bottled in February 2025.
