Viña Somoza Taté 2022

The red 2022 Taté was produced from traditional vineyards planted with mixed red varieties of 70+-year-old vines on terraces from the valley of As Ermitas on the banks of the Bibei River in the village of O Bolo in Valdeorras. It fermented with 45% full clusters and indigenous yeasts with a maceration of 43 days in stainless steel; then the wine matured in 500-liter French oak barrels for 12 months, followed by five more months in stainless steel. There is a toasty note, and the aromatic profile is a little darker (perhaps the effect of the recent bottling) but keeping the poise. It has a moderate 12.95% alcohol and a fine-boned palate with fine-grained tannins and vibrant flavors of acid berries. 1,505 bottles were filled in May 2024.
